Precise supply: High-temperature heat pump in chocolate production

A thermeco2 high-temperature heat pump (type: HHR 360) ensures the ideal temperatures in chocolate production at Riegelein in Cadolzburg.

  • Cooling at five degrees Celsius and heating at 65 to 85 degrees Celsius: the thermeco2 high-temperature heat pump masters this temperature balancing act in Riegelein's chocolate production in Cadolzburg.

  • The thermeco2 high-temperature heat pump provides part of the chocolate factory's cooling supply with 160 kilowatts; the system generates heating water with an output of 100 kilowatts.

Confiserie Riegelein is one of Europe's market leaders in chocolate figures. More than 750 different products form the core of the Riegelein range. Around 18,000 tons of chocolate are processed each year in accordance with the strictest quality standards in chocolate production. The export quota is already around 30 percent. As the food industry is one of the most temperature-sensitive sectors, precise cooling and heating is essential. This is guaranteed by the thermeco2-high-temperature heat pump from ENGIE Refrigeration in Riegelein's chocolate production.

Chocolate production secured!

The thermeco2 high-temperature heat pump copes with the high temperature spread required for chocolate production with flying colors: the system takes over part of the cooling, amounting to around 160 kilowatts. At the same time, it generates hot water with an output of 100 kilowatts. This heat output of the high-temperature heat pump corresponds to the basic requirements of the entire chocolate factory.
