Heating and refrigeration with a single system – provided by the PENSUM Air Reversible Heat. In the summer, our air/water heat pump creates a pleasantly cool environment by discharging thermal energy into the surrounding area. In winter it makes sure there is enough heat, with supply temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius. As well as lowering procurement costs for you, this also protects the environment.
‘With the PENSUM Air Reversible Heat we have not only created a smart two-in-one solution, we have also designed a highly flexible system that adapts to the needs of users.’
Rosa Gutarz, Head of Product Management at ENGIE Refrigeration
The PENSUM Air Reversible Heat obtains energy from the ambient air as a renewable energy source for heating and refrigeration. The models of these low-temperature air-water heat pumps are especially cost-efficient, low-noise, and achieve energy efficiency category A++ (as per EU 811/2013). This makes the model series in the capacity range of 50 to 400 kilowatts especially suitable for use in office buildings and public institutions, which need to be pleasantly cool in summer and cosy in winter. But that’s not all: depending on your requirements, you can select specific configuration packages as well as a range of warranty and service options, for example.
The PENSUM Air Reversible Heat convinces with a sophist-icated design and components of outstanding quality:
When ambient temperatures are hovering around freezing, the heat exchangers of air/water heat pumps tend to ice up. To prevent the ice from impeding the heat transfer and causing drops in performance, the Pensum Air Reversible Heat automatically activates a defrosting program. Defrosting by means of hot gas is not just safe and fast, it also has a better energy balance than an electrical heating element, for example.

Hydraulic options
Thanks to its smart design, our PENSUM Air Reversible Heat has an interior large enough for plenty of equipment and numerous hydraulic options. Ex-works the integrated hydraulic module already contains the most important hydraulic components and is available in various configurations – which saves time and money during commissioning (plug & play). The hydraulic modules can comprise one or two high-pressure or low-pressure pumps, either in stand-by operation or in simultaneous operation, including an expansion tank or a buffer storage.
In addition, further hydraulic options are possible:

All PENSUM Air models use the future-proof refrigerant R-454B, which has a low GWP value of 466. That means it already falls below the average GWP of <500, the value that the F-gas Regulation stipulates from 2030. If you choose a machine with R-454B today, you reduce the impact on the environment by around 78 per cent compared to a machine with the refrigerant R-410A.
