ENGIE eco-campus Paris: heat recovery par excellence

Several models from our QUANTUM Water series provide efficient cooling and heating for the ENGIE eco-campus in Paris - and use waste heat in an environmentally friendly and economical way thanks to heat recovery (Green Heat Recovery).

  • Four QUANTUM Water units with a total output of 5.6 megawatts and two further QUANTUM Water units with heat recovery, each with a cooling capacity of 1.55 megawatts and a heating capacity of 1.98 megawatts, are demonstrating their excellence at the ENGIE eco-campus in Paris.

  • The systems are making a fundamental contribution to the ENGIE Group reducing energy costs at the eco-campus Paris by an average of around 32 percent and saving almost 1.5 million tonsof CO2 per year.

We offer excellence in cooling and heating - we are demonstrating this impressively by supplying the ENGIE eco-campus Paris in La Garenne-Colombes. Covering 120,000 square meters, the building complex opens up new space for employees, residents and guests. ENGIE Solutions from Paris, a subsidiary of the ENGIE Group, is responsible for operations. Tractebel Engineering S.A., also part of ENGIE, is responsible for design and project management. In order to make the best possible use of synergies within the Group, our cooling and heating experts from ENGIE Refrigeration are also providing support with the simultaneous provision of cooling and heating for the building complex. Our QUANTUM Water series guarantees the optimum temperature in the ENGIE eco-campus Paris: a total of four QUANTUM Water (5.6 megawatts) for cooling and two further QUANTUM Water with heat recovery for cooling and heating (1.55 megawatts cooling and 1.98 megawatts heating capacity respectively) are available in our neighboring country.

Heat recovery as a success factor
Our two QUANTUM Water models with their integrated technology show that
heat recovery is more than just hot air, but rather offers major ecological and economic benefits: while one chiller is connected to the dry cooling system and can heat and cool at the same time, the other chiller is connected to geothermal sources and runs either as a pure heat pump or as a chiller. The result: Our Group reduces energy costs at the ENGIE eco-campus Paris by an average of around 32 percent and saves almost 1.5 million tons ofCO2 per year. All chillers use the future-proof refrigerant
R-1234ze - in this way, ENGIE Refrigeration is helping to make the Group's own site environmentally friendly, thereby contributing to the Group's strategic orientation. The principle of heat recovery makes an important contribution to this.
