Environmentally friendly, renewable methods of energy generation are increasingly used to ensure an efficient heat supply to production facilities: the new production hall at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Rastatt is one such example. In addition to the usage of waste heat from production processes, the plant also extracts heat from the ground – called geothermal energy- for heating purposes. Two QUANTUM chillers used as effi cient heat pumps, each with a thermal output of 1,807 kW under full load conditions, present the heart of this heating concept.

Four QUANTUM cool the Olympic Tower in Tehran.
ENGIE Refrigeration is taking over the refrigeration supply for the residential buildings in the Olympic Tower complex. For this purpose, four QUANTUM chillers with a cooling capacity of 1.29 MW each will be sent to Iran. Alongside mounting and welding work, Paul Bippus GmbH also produces precision turned parts for breaking and steering systems, emission control systems and diesel fuel injection systems from materials which are difficult to cut. Due to ever-increasing demand for precision turned parts, this supplier to the automobile industry decided to build a new production site in Oberndorf in 2004. In this case, the technology for cooling the production processes proved to be a particular challenge for Bippus.
