Final chord in the Great Hall, enthusiastic applause from over 2,100 listeners. Inspired by the special concert experience, the guests leave the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie. While the musicians deliver their applause-worthy performance, the equally remarkable work of the building services to keep the concert hall cool goes unnoticed. And that's a good thing. Because in order not to disturb the enjoyment of the concert in the Elbphilharmonie, the building cooling of the concert hall by two QUANTUM chillers in the basement must be exceptionally quiet. No problem for our refrigeration technology: The QUANTUM systems with a sound pressure level of 75 decibels (A) are so quiet during cooling - measured at a distance of one meter - that they do not interfere with the magical concert atmosphere at any time. The noise generated by the two chillers is only equivalent to that of a single standard car at medium power.
Cooling at a high level
This shows that still waters run deep. Despite their low-noise operation, the two systems provide an enormous output of around 2,100 kilowatts each when cooling the concert hall. Thanks to innovative technology and maximum efficiency, they meet the highest economic and ecological standards. They therefore fit perfectly into the building services for cooling the Elbphilharmonie - and are therefore a model for every other concert hall in Germany and beyond.
