A reliable and powerful cooling supply is the be-all and end-all for data centers and IT buildings. This is because the room temperature determines the operational reliability of sensitive equipment and therefore the availability of important data. In a data center in Germany, ENGIE Refrigeration is demonstrating the concentrated machine power and efficiency of its QUANTUM Air chillers. A total of 37 units with an impressive total output of 42 megawatts cool the data center in Germany down to the required room temperature. In addition to high performance, the chillers score points for their economical and sustainable operation thanks to their low refrigerant charge. The systems cool the data center completely without glycol.
Reliable data center cooling
To ensure the continuous operation of the data center in Germany, the air-cooled QUANTUM machines are equipped with innovative fast restart technology. This means that in the event of a power failure, the cooling technology reaches the correct temperature again within just three minutes, thus reliably and consistently preventing data loss or failures due to overheating. The pump load section and pump control are integrated into the switch cabinet of the chillers. Thanks to the use of an additional condenser, the systems also cool the data center in Germany particularly quietly - perfect for all sound-sensitive applications in various industries.
